PeerMed General Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using PeerMed, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, do not use the platform.
2. User Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old (or have parental consent if younger).
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- PeerMed may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, provide false information, or misuse the platform.
3. User Conduct
- You must use PeerMed lawfully and respectfully.
- Harassment, hate speech, spam, impersonation, or solicitation for unrelated services are not allowed.
- Tutors and students must maintain professional boundaries at all times.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
- All platform content (logos, interface, designs) belong to PeerMed Ltd.
- Any content you post (e.g., messages, bios, photos) remains yours, but you grant PeerMed a non-exclusive licence to use it for improving or promoting the service.
- You may not copy, resell, or reproduce any part of PeerMed without permission.
5. Payments and Tutoring Services
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
- PeerMed facilitates connections between users but does not guarantee specific outcomes or academic results.
- PeerMed is not liable for any direct or indirect issues arising from user-to-user interactions.
6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- The platform is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- PeerMed and its team are not liable for any losses, damages, or data issues resulting from your use of the service.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or remove users for policy violations, inappropriate conduct, or inactivity.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by UK law. Any disputes will be handled under UK jurisdiction.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. We'll notify you of major changes via email or app notification.

By using PeerMed, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Applicable to all PeerMed tutoring packages
Effective Date: 12 January 2025
1. Parties and Introduction
1.1 These Terms constitute a legally binding contract between you ("Student", "you", "your") and PeerMed ("we", "us", "our"), delivered via our website/app. You agree to these Terms by submitting a request form for a tutoring package and subsequently confirming payment.
1.2 These Terms apply to all packages offered through PeerMed including subject-specific (e.g., A-Level Biology), UCAT preparation, interview prep, and similar offers (each a "Package").
1.3 We are currently operating as a sole proprietor/trading business (not a limited company). You acknowledge this status and our legal liability is as described in Section 12.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 We agree to provide the tutoring services described in the Package you select (the "Services").
2.2 The Services include the number of tutoring hours, tutor matching, scheduling, and any defined extras as stated in the package overview.
2.3 We will match you with a verified PeerMed tutor, selected according to your preferences where possible. Payment and scheduling are only confirmed after tutor match (see Section 3).
3. Matching, Payment & Confirmation Process
3.1 You begin by submitting a "Request to Book" form. This constitutes your request for the Package.
3.2 Upon receipt we will send you a confirmation email: "Request Received". We aim to match you with a tutor within 24 hours (we will notify you sooner if unable).
3.3 After we match you with a tutor you will receive a second confirmation email with a payment link. At that point you must make payment to confirm the Package.
3.4 Until payment is received the package remains in status "Pending Match/Payment" and no Services are booked.
3.5 Once payment is confirmed you will receive a third email: "Booking Confirmed". At that point your tutoring hours commence according to scheduling.
4. Fees and Payment Terms
4.1 The fee for the Package is as stated at the time of your request and payment link.
4.2 Payment must be made via the method provided - Stripe.
4.3 We do not begin delivering Services before payment is confirmed.
4.4 If you fail to pay within the timeframe in our payment link email, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and release your slot.
5. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy
5.1 If we are unable to find and allocate you a suitable tutor within the stated timeframe (e.g., 24 hours), you may choose a full refund or wait for the next available tutor.
5.2 If you cancel your booking after payment and before session scheduling begins, you may be eligible for a partial refund which goes to a maximum of 30% of the original full price of the booking.
5.3 Once sessions have commenced, cancellations/rescheduling must provide at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations may result in forfeited hours or additional charges.
5.4 If the tutor cancels a session we will endeavour to reschedule or provide an equivalent replacement or credit for that hour.
5.5 No refunds or compensation are available for not achieving a particular grade, score or outcome (see Section 8).
6. Student Obligations
6.1 You agree to:
- Try your best to attend scheduled sessions on time and be prepared
- Try your best to complete any assignments/homework given by tutor
- Communicate schedule changes through the app promptly
- Behave respectfully toward tutors and use the platform as intended
6.2 If you fail to engage or repeatedly miss sessions without excuse, we reserve the right to discontinue the Service (without refund) at our discretion.
7. Tutor Details and Matching
7.1 Tutors engaged through PeerMed have been verified by us for suitability (qualifications, subject competence, background checks where applicable).
7.2 We endeavour to match you with your requested tutor, but cannot guarantee a specific tutor. We reserve right to reassign if needed, with notice.
7.3 Tutors act on a self-employed basis (unless otherwise stated) and we are not responsible for their personal tax, pensions, or employment status.
8. No Guarantee of Outcome
8.1 While our Services are designed to support your exam/UCAT/interview preparation, we cannot guarantee any specific grade, score, acceptance, or result. Achievement depends on your own effort, prior knowledge, external factors, and your tutor's performance.
8.2 Any marketing statements regarding "success", "top score", or "premium tutor" are not representations of guaranteed outcomes.
9. Intellectual Property & Use of Materials
9.1 Any materials provided by PeerMed or the tutor remain our or the tutor's intellectual property.
9.2 You may use them for your personal study only. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute them without our prior written consent.
10. Data Protection & Privacy
10.1 We will collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You consent to us contacting you by email, phone or app notifications regarding your sessions.
10.2 We will take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, but accept no liability for breaches beyond reasonable control.
11. Liability & Limitation
11.1 Our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms, including negligence arising from our performance, shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the applicable Package.
11.2 We exclude liability for indirect, special or consequential losses (including loss of profit, loss of anticipated savings), to the extent permitted by law.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms confines our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
12. Business Status & Legal Structure
12.1 You acknowledge that PeerMed is currently trading as a sole proprietor/unincorporated business. If at any time we incorporate or change legal status, we will notify you via our website.
12.2 These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
13.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website/app. Changes will not affect any bookings that are already confirmed.
14. Entire Agreement
14.1 These Terms (along with the Package overview you select, our Privacy Policy and any other documents expressly referred to) constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Services.
14.2 You confirm you have not relied on any other representation not stated in those documents.
15. Severance
15.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be illegal or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent required to make it enforceable and the remainder of the Terms will remain in full force.
